An increasing number of men from the western world are out there looking for brides of Russian origin. This search is fuelled by Russian matchmaking agencies’ claims of getting them beautiful women, feminine and family oriented brides. But beware, for your bride could be part of a scam! Catch the scammers with these tips.

Fact Finding

First of all sites that offer dates with Russians will always have thousands of profiles of women waiting to date. Statistics show there is only a very small percentage of Russians who use these date-makers! Think about it. Several sites have been blacklisted for putting up pictures of women who either didn’t know were on a dating site, or didn’t exist at all!

Often times when you are writing to women off a Russian site hoping to land yourself a bride, you are probably talking to a man. There will be a lot of email back and forth with stories of your dates miserable life. The twist? You have to pay for every email you send to your potential date! Do you see where this one is going?

Other ‘hookies’ to look out for are your date asking for money for an ill relative/ air tickets (she’s managed the visa!), Internet usage…the list goes on.
